What Else do I need?

There are just a couple of photographic accessories for your camera, you should probably get, to help make your photographic experienec more enjoyable and successful.
TRIPOD: It is my opinion that the most important of these is a tripod. It doesn't have to be a huge tripod - get the sturdiest type you can afford, but one of those small tabletop types is fine too - you can set it on a table, automobile hood or a large rock and here's why it's of the utmost importance.
You know
what happens when you take a photo of something or someone who is
moving a lot,,, your shot can end up blurry and/or out of focus.
That's because the subject was moving. When taking a photograph,
you'll get the sharpest images when everything is still. If the
camera is moving too, your problems are compounded. I'm not
suggesting that you take your tripod to a party to take shots of
your friends, but when taking a
portrait of
someone or a nice scenic landscape you may see on your vacation,
your photograph will be so much better if you take it using a
tripod. Any amount of camera movement while taking the picture,
will translate into some degree of the blurring of your subject.
If you want to make enlargements of some of your photos, any amount of blurring of the shot, will be so much more evident that you may not be satisfied with the degree of sharpness of the enlargement. You may not be saying it but I can almost guarantee you'll be thinking it: "Gee,,, I wish it were clearer" and you'll be makng excuses for it when you show it to your family and friends.' A small investment in a tripod of whatever quality, will bring huge returns in the satisfaction you get from your photography.
ZOOM LENS: A zoom lens with medium telephoto and wide angle capabilities is another tool, which will quite significantly raise the quality level of your photography. Aside from being able to take those special scenic shots from a distance, you'll be able to get in close for some nice shots of flowers or whatever your interests lie. Having telephoto capabilities also will mean your portraits of people will take on a more professional look too as most good portraits are taken with a medium telephoto lens.
If you can afford it, try to get a zoom lens such as a 35mm to 210mm. However even shorter lens will help you improve your work immensely. Check out camera exchanges camera stores for a good used one. You'll see the results immediately!
